(CIC 2825) Jesus, "Son though, through what he suffered, learned obedience" (Heb 5, 8). How much more reason have we sinful creatures and that we have become children of adoption He ! We ask our Father to unite our will to His Son to do His will, His plan of salvation for the life of the world. We are radically incapable of this, but united with Jesus and the power of his Holy Spirit, we can put in your hands our will and decide to choose what his Son has always chosen: to do what pleases the Father (cf. Jn 8 29): "Attached to Christ, we become one spirit with Him , and so do his will: this way it will be perfect on earth as in heaven" (Origen, De oratione , 26 , 3: PG 11, 501). "Consider how [Jesus Christ] teaches us to be humble, making us see that our virtue does not depend only on us, but for the grace of God. He commands every believer who prays to do so universally throughout the land. Why not say 'Let your will be done in me or in us,' but in all the land ': that the error is banished from her, that the truth prevails in it, that vice be destroyed on it, that virtue again flourish in it and that the land is no different from heaven "(St. John Chrysostom, Homily Matthaeum In 19, 5: PG 57, 280).
